Story of the birth of Lord Kartikeya

When Lord Shiva’s wife Ti had committed suicide, then Lord Shiva also lost his temper. Due to this the creation became powerless. Which the Asuras took advantage of. A demon whose name was Tarakasur, after getting a boon from Brahmaji, had become indispensable for all living beings. When his atrocities increased a lot and unrighteousness started spreading. Then Brahmaji told the deities that the killing of Tarakasura is possible only when Mahadev himself begets a son, after which the deities started trying to get Mahadev married and beget children. Later Mahadev got married to Parvati. However, even then thousands of years passed. After that due to an incident, Kartikeya appeared from Shiva on the sixth date. Kartikeya had 6 faces. He breastfed with six mouths. Hearing about the birth of Kartikeya, the deities came to the shelter of Lord Shiva and said that a fierce demon named Lord Tarakasura is harming the universe and has conquered the deities as well. Then Shiva himself came to kill Tarakasura. Although Tarakasura did not die. Lord Kartikeya

Then on being reminded by his father, Amit Tejashwi Kartikeya immediately reached the battlefield. As soon as he arrived, there was a stampede among the demons. Tarakasura could not even bend his hair. Tarakasur was killed there. On the request of the gods, Kartikeya became the officer of Uttar Kuru, the state of the northern pole and the army husband of the gods. Lord Kartikeya

How Kartikeya killed Tadkasur

According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, Tadkasur demon had a boon that he would die only at the hands of Lord Shiva’s son. Even the gods were frightened by his terror. A fierce battle took place between the gods and the demons between Ganga and Yamuna. Kartikeya killed Tadkasur in the war. Due to the slaughter, the sages got freedom from the terror of Tadkasur, but Kartikeya was upset. Tadkasur his father was a devotee of Lord Shiva. To make atonement for killing a devotee of Shiva, Kartikeya made Lord Vishwakarma construct three pure Shivlingas. Here all the three Shiva Lingas are at a distance. The height of each Shivling is four to five feet. Baba Mohangiri, Mahant of the temple, tells that Kartikeya decided to kill, at the same time he felt mental sin. Throwing power meant for killing, it hit the head of the demon, this action is called sin. Where the unconscious body fell and it was actually killed, it was considered an accidental sin. To atone for the three sins, Kartikeya established Pratijneshwar at the place where the pledge was taken, Kapaleeshwar where the power was thrown and Kumareshwar linga where the lifeless body fell. Kumareshwar has the most recognition. It is a secret pilgrimage site. It is mentioned in Shivpuran, Bhagwat Puran, Skandpuran and Vishwakarma Puran. Lord Kartikeya

Why is Kartikeya not worshipped?

According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, it is believed that when Lord Shiva decided to coronate Kartikeya. Then Mother Parvati started insisting on doing the coronation of Lord Ganesha. During this all the gods and goddesses got stuck in a dilemma. Then Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva decided that among the two brothers, the one who would go around the whole creation would come first. He will be considered the officer of Rajtilak. And he will be enthroned. After taking this decision, Kartikeya took his vehicle peacock and set out to circumambulate the whole earth. When Ganesha also started going around the earth with his vehicle rat, then mother Parvati stopped him and said that you should circumambulate the parents and all the gods and goddesses. This is considered to be the circumambulation of the entire universe. And Ganesh did as per the mother’s advice. By doing this of Lord Ganesha, he was considered entitled to the coronation. And he was enthroned. When Kartikeya returned after circumambulating the universe, he became angry with such a decision of the mother. And took off his flesh and skin and placed it in front of Mother Parvati. After this, Kartikeya cursed all the women who would see him in this form. She will remain a widow for seven births. Due to this curse of Kartikeya, he is not worshiped even today. Lord Kartikeya
