It is a religious belief that keeping a fast on Ekadashi Tithi and worshiping Lord Sri Hari Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, increases income, age, happiness and good fortune according to one’s wish. According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, Aja Ekadashi is celebrated every year on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Thus, in the year 2023, Aja Ekadashi is on Sunday 10th September. Ekadashi Tithi will start on 09th September at 09:17 PM and will end on the next day i.e. 10th September at 09:28 PM. Udaya date is considered in Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, Aja Ekadashi fast will be observed on 10th September. Sadhaks can worship the Lord of the World on 10th September from 07:37 am to 10:44 am. Importance of Aja Ekadashi
Fasting on Aja Ekadashi is considered a very auspicious day to get the blessings of Lord Vishnu. The glory of this fast provides all three benefits – mental, physical and financial. It is said in the Puranas that fasting on Ekadashi is considered beneficial to get rid of the inauspiciousness of the planets. On this day every problem is solved by place, donation and penance. Aja Ekadashi fast and worship method
1. After taking bath in the morning, wear yellow clothes. After that resolve to observe Aja Ekadashi fast and worship. Then install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a pedestal.
2. Now bathe the Lord with Panchamrit. Then decorate them with clothes, sandalwood, jewellery, flower garlands etc. After this, offer yellow flowers, Akshat, betel nut, betel leaf, basil leaves, fruits, sweets etc. to them. During this time keep chanting the puja mantra.
3. Offer incense, lamp, fragrance, naivedya etc. Then recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, Vishnu Chalisa and Aja Ekadashi Vrat Katha or listen to Vrat Katha. After that perform Aarti of Lord Vishnu with ghee lamp.
4. After this, ask forgiveness from the Lord for the shortcomings in worship and pray for the fulfillment of your wishes. Stay on fruits throughout the day and worship God. Perform Sandhya Aarti in the evening.
5. Stay awake at night. Then next day morning worship after bath. Donate and give Dakshina. Then complete the fast by doing Parana. Aja Ekadashi
Aja Ekadashi fasting rules
- According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, rice should not be consumed on the auspicious day of Ekadashi. It is believed that by consuming rice on this day, a human being is born in the vagina of a crawling creature. Those who do not fast on this day, they should also not consume rice.
- Celibacy should be followed on this day. Lord Vishnu should be worshiped on the day of Ekadashi. Worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day gives special benefits.
- Ekadashi is the auspicious day of worshiping Lord Vishnu, on this day only God should be praised. One should not get angry on the day of Ekadashi and stay away from debate.
- Insulting women on the day of Ekadashi does not give the result of fasting. Not only on the day of Ekadashi, a person should not insult women on any other day. People who do not respect women have to face many problems in life. Aja Ekadashi
Do these measures on Aja Ekadashi
- Mix rose water in yellow sandalwood or saffron on Aja Ekadashi. After this offer it to Lord Vishnu and apply tika on your forehead. By doing this remedy daily, you will get happiness and prosperity.
- Go to the temple of Lord Vishnu or take a betel leaf at home and write ‘Shri’ on it with roli or kumkum and offer it at the feet of God. After duly worshiping Shri Hari, keep the betel leaf in the safe. By doing this your business and income will increase by leaps and bounds.
- Offer coconut and almonds to Lord Sri Hari on Aja Ekadashi. After this, by doing this for the next 27 Ekadashi, every wish of the person is fulfilled.
- On the day of Aja Ekadashi, offer yellow flowers to Radharani and Shri Krishna. By doing this the person will get rid of every pain and sorrow.
- Light a ghee lamp under the Peepal tree on Aja Ekadashi. By doing this, all the gods and goddesses who reside in the Peepal tree along with Lord Vishnu will be pleased.
- On Aja Ekadashi, anoint Lord Vishnu with cow’s milk from Dakshinavarti conch. By doing this, Shri Hari becomes happy soon and fulfills every wish of the person. Aja Ekadashi
