Apart from this, another story is related to this Teej. Mother Parvati wanted to marry Shiva, but Shiva put a condition in front of her and asked her to prove her devotion and love. Then Parvati did hard penance for 108 years and pleased Shiva. Being pleased with Parvati, Shiva had accepted her as his wife on this Teej. That’s why it is called Kajari Teej.
