According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, when the mental creation created by Brahmaji at the beginning of the creation could not expand, he was very sad because of this. At the same time there was a voice from the sky, O Brahma! Now create Maithuni. After listening to Akashvani, Brahmaji decided to create Maithuni creation, but he could not succeed in his determination due to non-genesis of women till that time. Then Brahmaji thought that Maithuni creation cannot happen without the grace of Lord Shiva. So they started doing harsh penance to please him. For many days Brahmaji sat lovingly meditating on Lord Shiva in his heart. One day, being pleased with his penance, Lord Uma-Maheshwar appeared to him in the form of Ardhanarishwar. Shiva said – Son Brahma! I am extremely pleased with the hard penance you have done for the growth of the people. I will definitely fulfill your wish. By saying this, Shivji separated Uma Devi from half of his body. Brahma said that till now I have failed to create a proper creation. Now I want to expand the creation by creating subjects from the intercourse of man and woman. Supreme Lord Shiva manifested from the center of his eyebrows a power as radiant as his own. That power of Shiva for the creation of the universe became the daughter of Daksha as per the prayer of Brahmaji. In this way, Goddess Shiva entered the body of Mahadev ji by obliging Brahmaji and giving him unique power, this is the secret of God’s Ardhanarishwar Shiva and from this onwards the creation was able to operate.
