An online puja is a real puja performed by qualified pandits with the sankalp taken in your name, gotra and nakshatra. The sankalp is what connects the rite to you — not your physical presence. You receive a recording and the prasad by post. This is a long-established provision in classical practice, not a modern shortcut.

Is an Online Puja Actually Valid?
This is the first question every family asks, and it deserves a proper answer rather than reassurance.
In classical Vedic practice, a puja may be performed by a qualified person on behalf of someone who is not present. This provision has existed for as long as the tradition has — it is how rites at Gaya, Kashi, Trimbakeshwar and Rameswaram have always been performed for families living hundreds of miles away, and how a priest performs Shradh for a client who cannot travel.
The mechanism that makes this work is the sankalp — the formal statement of intent naming the person, their gotra, their nakshatra and the specific purpose. The sankalp is what binds the rite to an individual. Physical presence is not what does it, which is why the tradition never required it.
What is genuinely different online is only the delivery: you watch a recording rather than sitting in the room, and prasad reaches you by post rather than by hand. The rite itself — the sankalp, the japa counts, the havan, the daan — is performed exactly as it would be with you present.
Where an online puja is not the right choice: rites that specifically require the yajman's physical participation, such as certain wedding ceremonies, the sacred thread ceremony, and some Shradh rites where the eldest son's own hands are prescribed. We say so when that is the case rather than taking the booking.
Why the Sankalp Is the Whole Thing
If you take one thing from this page, take this — because it is also how you judge whether any puja, online or in person, was performed properly.
The sankalp names:
- Your name
- Your gotra — the ancestral lineage
- Your nakshatra and rashi — from your birth details
- The place — where you are, stated in the traditional geographic formula
- The date and tithi
- The specific purpose — stated plainly, not generically
A puja performed without a sankalp in your name is a general puja that happened to occur. It is not yours. This is the single most common shortcut in the online puja trade, and it is why we send the sankalp recording rather than only the aarti — so you can hear your own name and purpose being stated.
If you do not know your gotra, that is common and not a problem. Where it is genuinely unknown, the tradition provides for using Kashyapa gotra, which is the accepted default. Nakshatra we can determine from your birth details.

That last item matters more than families expect. A puja is a beginning, not a conclusion — the mantra you continue for forty days afterwards is part of the remedy, and we set it out in writing rather than leaving you to guess.

This is where most money is wasted, so it is worth being direct: book the puja that matches the affliction in your chart, not the one that matches your symptom.

If you are unsure, a chart reading first is genuinely the cheaper route. It costs a fraction of a large puja and it prevents booking the wrong one — which is a real risk, since a Navagraha puja performed when Saturn alone is the problem spreads the same effort across nine deities instead of concentrating it.
How the Process Works
- You share your birth details and the concern. Or book a chart reading first if the cause is unclear.
- We confirm which puja is appropriate — and say so if we think a smaller or different one will serve better.
- A date is chosen by muhurat, matched to the puja and to your chart where relevant.
- You confirm the booking and provide the sankalp details.
- The puja is performed by qualified pandits — full japa counts, havan and daan.
- Recording and photographs are shared with you after completion.
- Prasad and any energised item are dispatched to your address.
- Follow-up instructions are provided in writing — what to recite, how many times, for how long.

Where the birth time is unknown — common for those born at home or before the 1990s — say so. Some pujas do not require it at all, and for those that do, we will tell you whether rectification is needed rather than proceeding on a guess.
Choosing the Date
The date is chosen by muhurat, and the general principles are:
- Each planet has its own day — Saturday for Shani and Rahu, Tuesday for Mangal, Thursday for Guru, Friday for Shukra, Monday for Chandra and Shiva.
- Amavasya is traditionally strongest for planetary pacification and for ancestral rites.
- Pitru Paksha is the correct window for ancestral rites and the wrong one for anything auspicious.
- Navratri, Shivratri, Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya carry additional weight for the relevant deities.
- Avoid eclipse periods for auspicious pujas, and Adhik Maas for new undertakings.
Where a puja is time-sensitive — a Shradh on a specific tithi, a Nag Panchami rite, a Shani Shanti at the start of Sade Sati — we will tell you the window rather than fitting it to convenience.
What You Should Do on the Day
Your participation matters, and it is simple.
- Bathe in the morning and wear clean clothes.
- Keep a sattvic diet that day — no meat, alcohol, onion or garlic.
- Light a lamp at home at the time of the puja, facing east.
- Sit for a few minutes at that time, and state your purpose in your own words. You do not need Sanskrit.
- Recite what you know — even ॐ नमः शिवाय eleven times.
- Give something the same day — food to someone hungry, or the planet's donation items. This is not optional in classical framing; the daan is the part that settles the account.
- Avoid conflict and harsh speech that day. This sounds like an aside and is the instruction families most often report as the difficult one.
After the Puja
What follows determines whether the puja holds.
- Continue the prescribed mantra for at least 40 days. This is standard practice and the most commonly ignored instruction we give.
- Complete the donations that were prescribed, to people who need them rather than into a box.
- Act on the practical advice. A Shani puja followed by continued avoidance of a debt or a health issue will not help — Saturn wants the action, and the puja supports it.
- Keep the prasad and any energised item respectfully. Do not discard them casually.
- Allow three to six months before concluding anything. Judge internal change at forty days and external change at three months.
- Do not immediately book another puja if nothing has happened in three weeks. That is below the threshold at which any conclusion is available.
How to Judge an Online Puja Service
The online puja trade contains genuine practitioners and a great deal of exploitation. These are the checks worth applying — to us as much as to anyone else.
Good signs:
- They ask for your gotra and nakshatra, and explain why
- They send the sankalp recording, not only an aarti clip
- They tell you when a smaller or different puja would serve better
- They explain which planet and house is involved, and why this puja fits
- They give follow-up instructions in writing
- They tell you plainly what a puja cannot do
- Pricing is stated upfront and does not change
Warning signs:
- A guaranteed specific outcome — a named person in marriage, a particular job, a sum of money
- Fear and urgency — "do this within three days or something will happen." Fear is a sales technique, not an astrological finding.
- Escalating costs — a small puja leading to a larger one, then a gemstone, then a bigger puja
- Stock footage, or a recording that never states your name
- A gemstone recommended before the chart is examined
- Pressure to keep it secret from your family
- Claims of removing karma entirely, or of tantric work against another person
That last one deserves emphasis. We do not perform vashikaran, maran, or any rite intended to control or harm another person. Requests of that kind are declined, and any practitioner offering them should be avoided entirely.
What We Do Not Promise
Stated plainly, because it is the fairest thing to publish on a page that also takes bookings.
A puja does not delete karma. The classical framing is closer to rescheduling a debt than cancelling it — the difficult period still runs, but its intensity softens and the capacity to act returns.
A puja does not override the dasha. If an adverse Mahadasha is running, remedies reduce its difficulty; they do not shorten it. We will tell you when that is the situation, even though it is not what anyone wants to hear.
A puja does not replace medical, legal or financial help. Where a problem is medical, we say so and expect you to see a doctor. Where it is legal or financial, the same.
A puja does not work instead of effort. It clears obstruction; you still have to walk the path.
