According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, Tritiya Tithi will start from 11:08 am on 17th September and will continue till 12:39 pm on the next day i.e. 18th September. Importance of Hartalika Teej

Hartalika Teej is made up of two words. Harit means to abduct and Taali means friend. Therefore this fast is called Haritalika Teej. Mother Parvati had accepted Lord Shiva as her husband. On the other hand, her father wanted her to marry Lord Vishnu. In such a situation, Parvati ji’s friends kidnapped her and she performed severe penance in the dense forest and got Lord Shiva as her husband. Story of Hartalika Teej

The festival of Hartalika Teej is celebrated on Shukla Paksha Tritiya of Bhadrapada month. There is a gap of about a month between Hariyali Teej and Hartalika Teej. According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, Goddess Parvati had accepted Lord Shiva as her husband in her mind and she was always engrossed in the penance of Lord Shiva. Seeing this, Parvati’s friends abducted her and took her to the deep forests. Harit means abducting and table means friend. Therefore this fast is called Haritalika Teej. Hartalika Teej

Because Parvati’s father wanted to marry her with Lord Vishnu and mother Parvati was not ready for it. Parvati continued her penance in the forests. On Haritalika Teej, Mother Parvati made an idol of Lord Shiva from clay and worshiped him. Lord Shiva was pleased by the worship of Mother Parvati. After seeing Goddess Parvati, he promised to marry her. Later, Mother Parvati’s father Himalaya also gave permission for the marriage. Hartalika Teej fast worship method

-Doing worship during Pradosh period is very auspicious. The auspicious time after sunset is called Pradoshkaal. In this there is a meeting of day and night.

-For Hartalika puja, first of all make the idol of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati by kneading it with black wet clay with your hands.

-Then place the idol on a pedestal decorated with flowers. Keep in mind that there must be a red cloth spread in this post. Install Lord Ganesha along with the idols of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

-After this, start the puja by invoking all the gods and goddesses.

– Offer all the worship materials used in Hartalika Teej one by one to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

Hartalika Teej fasting rules

1- Sleeping at night is prohibited on the day of Hartalika Teej.

2- On this day women keep vigil at night. At night they sing folk songs and perform bhajans and kirtans.

3- According to the legend, a woman who sleeps on Hartalika Teej has to be born in the vagina of a python or a crocodile in her next life.

   4- Once Hartalika fast is observed, it has to be observed throughout life. If the woman is not able to observe the fast due to health reasons, then this fast can be observed by the husband.

5- On the day of Hartalika fast, read the fast story during puja. Because the fast is not considered complete without reading or listening to the fast story. Hartalika Teej

Remedies for Hartalika Teej given by Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali

  • If there is lack of proper coordination in married life, then observe a waterless or fruit fast on the day of Haritalika Teej. In the evening, do complete makeup and go to Shiva temple. Offer perfume and water to Lord Shiva. Offer vermillion and chunari to Goddess Parvati. Chant “Om Gaurishankaraya Namah” 108 times. Always keep Rs 11 tied in the offered chunri with you. By adopting this one solution, your married life will be filled with happiness.
  • If there is distance between husband and wife, then keep fast by drinking water or water from the morning. During Pradosh period, do complete makeup and go to Shiva temple. Light a four-sided lamp in the temple. Offer sandalwood to Shiva and vermillion and red bangles to Goddess Parvati. Then chant the mantra “Namah Shivay” 108 times. Bring bangles with you in their original form and always wear them.
  •   After completing the puja on the day of Hartalika Teej, donate saree and toe rings to five elderly married women. Also take blessings from them to be blessed with good fortune. This maintains happiness in married life.
  • On the day of Hartalika Teej, married women observe Nirjala fast and in the evening, do sixteen adornments and offer water in a Shiva temple. Also offer red colored chunari to Goddess Parvati. After this, chant ‘Om Gauri Shankaraya Namah Mantra’. Tie 7, 11, or 21 rupees in the chunri according to your devotion. After completing the puja, keep the money tied in the chunari with you.
