1. Matsya Avatar: Matsya Avatar is the first incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In this incarnation, Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of a fish. According to belief, when a demon had stolen the Vedas and hid them in the depths of the ocean, then Lord Vishnu in the form of a fish found the Vedas and restored them. 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu

2. Varah Avatar: Varah Avatar is the third avatar among the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu according to Hindu scriptures. In this incarnation, God killed the demon Hiranyaksha by taking the form of a pig.

3. Kachhapa Avatar: Kurma Avatar is also called ‘Kachhapa Avatar’. In this, Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of a tortoise. Shri Hari in the Kachhapa avatar had handled the Mandar mountain by keeping it on his armor during the churning of the ocean of Kshirsagar. 4. Lord Narasimha: According to the scriptures, out of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the fourth incarnation is Narasimha. In this incarnation Lakshmipati appeared as Nar-Singh meaning half lion and half human. In this, God had the face of a lion and the body of a human. In Narasimha avatar, he killed the demon Hiranyakashyap, the father of his devotee Prahlad.

5. Vaman Avatar: Lord Vishnu’s fifth incarnation is Vaman. In this, Lord Brahmin came to earth in the form of a child and asked Prahlad’s grandson King Bali to donate three steps of land. 6. Parshuram: Parshuram, the incarnation of Vishnu, was the son of Renuka, daughter of King Prasenjit and Jamdagni of Bhrigu dynasty. He was the sixth incarnation among the Dashavatars. Because of being the son of Jamdagni, he is also called ‘Jamdagni’. He was a great devotee of Shiva. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shankar gave him Parshu weapon. His name was Ram and because he wielded the axe, he was called Parashuram. It is said that he had destroyed the Kshatriyas many times. 7. Shri Ram: Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram is one of the ten incarnations of Vishnu. Maharishi Valmiki wrote the story of Ram in the Sanskrit epic Ramayana. Tulsidas had composed the devotional poem Shri Ramcharitmanas. Ram was the son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya and his first queen Kaushalya.

8. Shri Krishna: Yashoda Nandan Shri Krishna was also an incarnation of Vishnu. Bhagwat Granth contains stories of the exploits of Lord Krishna. He has many names like Gopal, Govind, Devki Nandan, Vasudev, Mohan, Makhan Chor, Murari. He appeared in Mathura as the son of Devaki and Vasudev. Shri Krishna had a big role in the war of Mahabharata. He was Arjun’s charioteer in this war. His sister Subhadra was the wife of Arjuna. He had preached Gita to Arjuna before the war.

  9. Lord Buddha: Buddha is also one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He is also called Gautam Buddha, Mahatma Buddha. He is considered the founder of Buddhism. Buddhism is one of the four major religions of the world. He was born as the son of Shakya king Shuddhodhan of Kshatriya clan. He was named Siddhartha. After his marriage, Gautam Buddha left his children Rahul and wife Yashodhara and set out on the path of liberating the world from illusions and sorrows.

10. Kalki Avatar: Kalki Avatar is considered to be the last incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to Kalki Purana, ‘Kalki’ incarnation of Shri Hari will happen at the end of Kaliyuga. After that all the sins and bad deeds will be destroyed from the earth 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
