This Bhado Amavasya is also known by names like Kushagrahani Amavasya, Kush Utpatan, Kushotpatini. Kushagrahani Amavasya means the uprooting of Kush. On this day Kush is duly uprooted. This Kush is used throughout the year for the worship of Gods, Goddesses and ancestors. Importance of Kush

According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, Kush should be brought at the time of sunrise on this Amavasya. If you are not able to bring it at the time of sunrise, then bring it home during Abhijit or Vijay Muhurta of that day. The rule is that Kush should not be plucked after sunset. If Kush has grown in a dirty place then do not bring it. Before breaking the kusha, do apologize to them. Along with this, while praying, say that O Kush, please accept my invitation and come with me to my house.
