In the Hindu sect, the marriage ceremony of young men and women is done when they attain the physical, mental maturity capable of taking up the responsibility of building a family. Types Of Marriages

1. Brahma Vivah

With the consent of both the parties, fixing the marriage of a girl with a suitable groom of an equal class is called ‘Brahma Vivah’. Generally, after this marriage, the girl is sent off with ornaments. Today’s “arranged marriage” is a form of ‘Brahma marriage’.

2. Divine Marriage

Giving one’s daughter in charity as the value of some service work (especially a religious ritual) is called ‘Diva Vivah’.

3. Arya Marriage

Marrying a girl child by giving the value of the girl (usually by donating a cow) to the girl-partners is called ‘Arya Vivah’.

4. Prajapatya Marriage

Without the consent of the girl, marrying her to the groom of the elite class is called ‘Prajapatya marriage’.

5. Gandharva Marriage

विवाह संस्कार पूजा

हिंदू संप्रदाय में, युवा पुरुषों और महिलाओं का विवाह समारोह तब किया जाता है जब वे परिवार के निर्माण की जिम्मेदारी लेने में सक्षम शारीरिक, मानसिक परिपक्वता प्राप्त कर लेते हैं। भारतीय संस्कृति के अनुसार विवाह केवल शारीरिक या सामाजिक अनुबंध नहीं है, यहाँ युगल को एक महान साधना का रूप भी दिया गया है। इसलिए इसे ‘धन्यो गृहस्थश्रमः’ कहा गया है।

संस्कार उद्देश्य:- विवाह दो आत्माओं का पवित्र बंधन है। दो प्राणी अपने अलग अस्तित्व को समाप्त करते हैं और एक संसक्त इकाई बनाते हैं। भगवान ने स्त्री और पुरुष दोनों में कुछ विशेषताएं और कुछ खामियां दी हैं। शादियां अपनी विशेषताओं के साथ एक-दूसरे की खामियों को पूरा करती हैं

विशेष व्यवस्था :- विवाह समारोह में भगवान की पूजा, यज्ञ आदि से संबंधित सभी व्यवस्थाएं पहले से ही कर लेनी चाहिए। यदि सामूहिक विवाह हो तो प्रत्येक जोड़े के अनुसार प्रत्येक वेदी पर आवश्यक सामग्री रखनी चाहिए, अनुष्ठानों को ठीक से करने के लिए प्रत्येक वेदी पर एक जानकार व्यक्ति को भी नियुक्त किया जाना चाहिए। यदि केवल एक ही विवाह है, तो आचार्य स्वयं इसकी देखभाल कर सकते हैं। सामान्य व्यवस्था के साथ-साथ विशेष कर्मकांडों में जिन वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता होती है, उन्हें प्रारम्भ में ही देखना चाहिए। उसके सूत्र इस प्रकार हैं।

पारिवारिक स्तर पर विवाह के मामलों में वरेछा, तिलक (विवाह की पुष्टि), हरिद्रा दुबला (हल्दी चढ़ाना) और द्वार पूजा आदि के लिए अनुरोध सामने आते हैं।

विवाह के प्रकार

1. ब्रह्म विवाह

दोनों पक्षों की सहमति से, एक समान वर्ग के उपयुक्त वर के साथ लड़की का विवाह तय करना ‘ब्रह्म विवाह’ कहलाता है। आमतौर पर इस शादी के बाद लड़की को गहनों के साथ विदा किया जाता है। आज का “अरेंज मैरिज” ‘ब्रह्म विवाह’ का ही एक रूप है।

2. दिव्य विवाह

किसी सेवा कार्य (विशेषकर एक धार्मिक अनुष्ठान) के मूल्य के रूप में अपनी बेटी को दान में देना ‘दिवा विवाह’ कहलाता है।

3. आर्य विवाह

साझीदारों को कन्या का मूल्य (आमतौर पर गाय दान करके) देकर कन्या का विवाह करना ‘आर्य विवाह’ कहलाता है।

4. प्रजापत्य विवाह

लड़की की सहमति के बिना, उसका विवाह कुलीन वर्ग के दूल्हे से करना ‘प्रजापत्य विवाह’ कहलाता है।

5. गंधर्व विवाह

परिवार के सदस्यों की सहमति के बिना, दूल्हा और दुल्हन के आपस में बिना किसी रीति-रिवाज के विवाह को ‘गंधर्व विवाह’ कहा जाता है। दुष्यंत ने शकुंतला के साथ ‘गंधर्व विवाह’ किया था। उनके पुत्र भरत के नाम से ही हमारे देश का नाम “भारतवर्ष” पड़ा।
