Dhumavati Yantra Pendant

Pandit NM Shrimali explains Mahavidyas or 10 forms of the Goddess Adi Parashakti are: Kali, Tara, Shodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Dhumvati, Baglamukhi, Matangi and Kamla. The best way to worship these deities is to indulge oneself in Sadhana with the help of Yantra and mantra. Dhumavati is the seventh form of Adi Parashakti. Goddess Dhumvati is a Mahavidya which is an energy or Shakti in the form of smoke. Goddess Dhumvati is worshipped at night. She is also called as Alakshmi. Goddess Dhumvati signifies death, hunger, poverty, disease and all other types of negativeness and inauspiciousness. Dhumvati was previously known as Devi Sati and was the first wife of Lord Shiva. She is also called as the eternal widow. Once she asked Lord Shiva to bring her something to eat. But as they were in the Himalayas, Lord Shiva was not able to fulfill her wish. Out of extreme hunger, she engulfed Lord Shiva and by doing so, widowed herself.
Shrimali Ji says, Dhumvati is the Divine Goddess at the time of Deluge, when the world was under water. Goddess Dhumvati is also known as a kind-hearted and giver of boons. Goddess Dhumvati is described as a great teacher who reveals ultimate knowledge of the Universe to the devotees. Goddess Dhumvati is the divine mother at the time of the flood.
According to Pandit Ji, the ugly form of Goddess Dhumvati teaches the devotees to look at the inner truths of the life. Goddess Dhumvati is considered to be the giver of Siddhis, one who rescues from all the troubles, and the deity who fulfills all the desires of the devotees and awards them with ultimate knowledge and moksha.
Shrimali Ji says, The Dhyana Mantra of Goddess Dhumvati says that she is ugly and angry. She is tall and wears dirty clothes. Her ears are ugly and she has elongated teeth, and her breasts hang down. She has a nose shaped like a crow’s beak. She has the disposition of a widow. She has fearful eyes and her hands tremble. She holds a winnowing basket and with the other hand, she makes the gesture of bestowing boons. Her nature is discourteous. She asks for food and drink and she is never satisfied. She likes to create conflict, and she is always fearful in her appearance.
A devotee should chant Goddess Dhumvati mantra at least one lakh times on the 14th day of lunar phase during Krishna Paksha in solitude or in the cremation ground or in the forest and observe fast and remain silent the whole day and night. The black crow on her flag is a symbol of the dark forces and black magic. She is represented as riding a crow or a chariot without horses in a cremation ground. She is also known to give the supreme knowledge of the Universe, so she is also described as a great teacher.
