Shankh Mala

Shankh Mala is especially useful for the people of Cancer. Signs / oysters are often obtained from the shores of the sea during tidal breezes. The person who holds this will get all the benefits of the world. By wearing it, the lunar defects are destroyed.

Small Mala or rosaries made from small conch shells or Shankh are considered lucky and auspicious. Shankh is an important puja item and is used in Hindu pujas. Conch Rosaries are dear to Goddess Lakshmi. Conch Mala is used usually in the sadhana of Goddess Lakshmi or while chanting mantras dedicated to Goddess Laxmi.

It is believed that wearing of small conch Malas brings peace and prosperity. Some people keep this mala along with account books and in cash lockers for luck and business prosperity.

People who constantly give speeches wear the conch shell mala to overcome stage fear and to gain confidence. Some people wear it to overcome speech problems. last year my beloved grandmother gave me these lovely looking japa beads made with 108 (+ Krishna bead) little conch shells from the beach, she didn’t buy them from a store being already made, instead, she made someone to make them especially for me and she gave them as a present which I love. She even instructed the sir who made them make them like, the first bead should be small and last bead really big, so the conch shells should gradually increase in size. Along with those beads, I already had Tulasi Japa beads on which I used to chant while keeping the conch shell mala (I don’t know its name) on the altar next to my Gaura Nitai and Lakshmi deities ( I offered it). Now that my Tulasi beads got completely broken and unrepairable because of “excessive” use (chanting many many rounds daily), some of the beads even got lost or broke before the mala string got broken;
