According to the trinity of God, Lord Vishnu is the upholder of the whole Universe and his consort Lakshmi is the Goddess of riches and wealth. Sheshnag is the bed of Lord Vishnu and whole of the world is perched on its hoods. Sheshanag is a deity which had taken the form of a great snake. Vishnu is the chief deity in Hinduism and supreme deity in Vaishnavism.
On one of the backhands he (Vishnu) is holding the milky white conch shell or ‘sankha’ that spreads the ancient sound of Om, and on the other a disc or ‘chakra’ – which is a reminder of the cycle of time – and is also a mortal weapon that he uses against monsters and cruel. Sheshanag is usually represented with a massive form that floats coiled in space to form the bed on which Vishnu lies. Sometimes he is shown as five-headed or seven-headed.
