उज्जयिन्यां महाकालमोंकारं ममलेश्वरम् ॥1॥
परल्यां वैजनाथं च डाकियन्यां भीमशंकरम्।
सेतुबन्धे तु रामेशं नागेशं दारुकावने ॥2॥
वारणस्यां तु विश्वेशं त्र्यम्बकं गौतमी तटे।
हिमालये तु केदारं ध्रुष्णेशं च शिवालये ॥3॥
एतानि ज्योतिर्लिंगानि सायं प्रातः पठेन्नरः।
सप्तजन्मकृतं पापं स्मरेण विनश्यति ॥4॥

1-Somnath Jyotirlinga सोमनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग
Somnath Jyotirlinga is considered as the first Jyotirling of this Earth, not only of India. This temple is situated in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat state. According to Shiva Purana, when Draupadi Prajapati cursed the Moon to be Tuberculosis, then Chandra attained salvation from this curse by doing penance at this place. It is also said that this Shivling was founded by Chandradeva himself. Due to foreign invasions, it has been destroyed 17 times. Every time it worsens and continues to grow.
2 – Mallikarjun Jyotirlinga मल्लिकार्जुन ज्योतिर्लिंग
This Jyotirlinga is located on the banks of Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh on the mountain of Srisailam. The significance of this temple is said to be similar to Lord Kailash mountain of Lord Shiva. Many religious texts explain its religious and mythological significance. It is said that only by seeing this Jyothirlinga, the person gets freedom from all his sins. According to a mythological story, where it is Jyotirling, worshiping Shiva on that mountain receives the virtuous fruits similar to Ashwamedh Yajna.
3- Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग
This Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain city known as the religious capital of Madhya Pradesh. The specialty of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is that it is the only southward Jyotirlinga. Every morning there is a world famous cemetery around the world. The worship of Mahakaleshwar is specially done to avoid the crisis arising on age and age. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is located on the mountain named Sahyadri in Pune district of Maharashtra. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is also known as Moteshwar Mahadev. Regarding the temple, it is believed that the devotees who visit the temple every day after coming out of the sun with reverence, the sins of seven lives are removed and the paths of heaven are opened for them.
7 – Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga काशी विश्वनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग
Vishwanath Jyotirlinga is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of India. It is located in Kashi, Uttar Pradesh. Kashi holds the highest importance in all religious places. One name of Lord Shiva is also Trimbakeshwar. It is said that Lord Shiva had to live in Jyotirling form here on the request of Gautam Rishi and Godavari river.
9 – Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga वैद्यनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग
Shri Vaidyanath Shivaling has been ranked ninth in the calculation of all Jyotirlingas. The place where Lord Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga’s temple is situated is called Vaidyanatha Dham. This place falls in Jharkhand Prefecture, east of Bihar Pradesh’s Dumka in Santhal Paragana.
10 – Nageshwar Jyotirlinga नागेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग
This Jyotirlinga is located in Dwarka place in the outskirts of Gujarat. In the scriptures, Lord Shiva is the God of Nagas and the full meaning of Nageshwar is God of the serpent. Another name of Lord Shiva is also Nageshwar. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga is also 17 miles away from Dwarka Puri. It is said in the glory of this Jyothirling that all the wishes of the person who comes here with full devotion and faith here are fulfilled.
11- Rameswaram Jyotirlinga रामेश्वरम ज्योतिर्लिंग
This Jyotirlinga is located in a place called Ramnath Purna of Tamil Nadu State. Along with being one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, this place is also one of the four dhams of Hindus. It is believed in the context of this Jyothirling that it was established by Lord Shri Ram itself. Due to being established by Lord Rama, this Jyotirlinga has been given the name of Lord Ram, Rameshwaram.
12 – Ghrishneshwar Temple Jyotirlinga घृष्णेश्वर मन्दिर ज्योतिर्लिंग
The famous temple of Ghrishneshwar Mahadev is located near Daulatabad near Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. It is also known by the name of Ghrishneshwar or Anhushmeshar. People come from far away to visit here and attain spiritual peace. This is the last Jyotirlinga of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The famous caves of Ellora built by Buddhist monks are located near this temple. This is also the tomb of Shri Eknathji Guru and Shri Janardan Maharaj.
