Know what is Pind Daan, importance and rules of Pind Daan. – Pind Daan
Pind Daan Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali has told that Shraddha, Tarpan and Pind Daan activities start from the full moon day of Bhadrapada month. There is a difference between Shraddha, Tarpan and Pind Daan and their methods are also different. Regarding Shraddha, it has been said in astrology and religion that the salvation work done with reverence for the ancestors is called Shraddha. Whereas in Tarpan, ancestors, gods and sages are satisfied by offering water mixed with sesame seeds. Whereas Pind Daan is considered an easy and simple path to attain salvation. Therefore, Gaya Ji located in Bihar has been said to be the best place for Pind Daan or Tarpan. However, now Pind Daan and Tarpan work has started being done at many holy places in the country. Importance of Pind Daan
Pind Daan is a very important ritual performed to satisfy the ancestors and get relief from many sins. This ritual frees the soul of the deceased from the cycle of rebirth and death. Pind Daan is also considered necessary to separate the soul from worldly material attachments so that it can move forward on the path of development. It is believed that if Pind Daan is not performed then the souls of the ancestors remain unhappy and unsatisfied. According to the Puranas, Pind Daan imparts knowledge to the departed soul and leads it to salvation. This ritual is considered very important for the happiness and prosperity of the family. How to do Pind Daan in Pitru Paksha
According to Guru Maa Nidhi Ji Shrimali, only the eldest son can always perform Pind Daan. He is the one who offers Tarpan and Pind Daan to all his ancestors. During Pitru Paksha, it is considered appropriate to go to any religious place and offer prayers. Gaiya is considered to be the best place to perform Pind Daan. If you want to perform Pind Daan of your ancestors then you can go to Gaya. During Pitru Paksha, Shraddha rituals or Tarpan should be performed by some pundits only. To perform Pind Daan, first of all mix cow’s milk, ghee, honey and black sesame seeds in rice. After that make a ball out of it and make a mass. Place the sacred thread on the right shoulder and face south and offer Pinda to the ancestors along with mantras. During this time, donations are made in the name of ancestors. Along with this, food is also provided to the Brahmins. If you cannot do Pind Daan in Gaya then you can go to a religious place near you and do Pind Daan. Pind Daan
