Why should children shave?

• Then apply turmeric and sandalwood paste on the child’s head. If there is any kind of cut on the child’s head, then this paste helps in quick recovery.
• Then the child’s hair is shed in the idol of a deity or in the river.
• In some traditions, a small amount of hair is left during shaving. It is said that this peak provides protection to the brain.

मुंडन संस्कार

भारतीय परंपरा में बच्चे की हजामत बनाने का विशेष महत्व है। मुंडन संस्कार को चूड़ाकर्म संस्कार भी कहा जाता है। इससे पहले सातवां संस्कार अन्नप्राशन है, जिसमें बच्चे को पहली बार ठोस आहार दिया जाता है।

बच्चों को क्यों मुंडवाना चाहिए?

जन्म से लगभग हर बच्चे के सिर पर कुछ बाल होते हैं। इन बालों को अशुद्ध माना जाता है। हिंदू धर्म में प्रचलित मान्यता के अनुसार 84 लाख योनियों के बाद मानव योनि पाई जाती है। ऐसे में पिछले सभी जन्मों के कर्ज के पाप को दूर करने के लिए बच्चे के बाल काटे जाते हैं। इसके अलावा यह संस्कार मस्तिष्क की पूजा के लिए भी किया जाता है।

मुंडन संस्कार की विधि :

• हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार मुंडन संस्कार सही समय देखकर ही किया जाता है। संतान को धार्मिक स्थल के वातावरण का लाभ मिल सकता है। इसका शुभ मुहूर्त पंडित द्धारा बच्चे के जन्म और समय के आधार पर लिया जाता है।
• इस दौरान पंडित हवन भी करते हैं। मुंडन समारोह के दौरान, माँ बच्चे को गोद में बिठाती है और अपना चेहरा पश्चिम दिशा में अग्नि की ओर रखती है।
• इसके बाद, नाई बच्चे को रेजर से शेव करता है। हालांकि, कुछ परिवारों में पंडित के शुरुआती बाल काट दिए जाते हैं।
• बच्चे के सिर को गंगाजल से धोया जाता है।
• फिर हल्दी और चंदन का लेप बच्चे के सिर पर लगाएं। अगर बच्चे के सिर पर किसी तरह का कट लग जाए तो यह पेस्ट जल्दी ठीक होने में मदद करता है।
  फिर बच्चे के बाल किसी देवता की मूर्ति या नदी में बहाए जाते हैं।
• कुछ परंपराओं में, मुंडन के दौरान बालों की थोड़ी सी मात्रा छोड़ दी जाती है। कहा जाता है कि यह चोटी मस्तिष्क को सुरक्षा प्रदान करती है।

मुंडन कब करवाना चाहिए
