Significance of Lakshmi Puja on Diwali: We all know that Maa Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth. It is only by the grace of Maa Lakshmi that one attains opulence and splendour. On the auspicious day of Kartik Amavasya, blessings of prosperity are taken by pleasing the goddess of wealth.

 The festival of Sharad Purnima, which comes before Deepawali, is celebrated like the birth anniversary of Goddess Lakshmi. Then on Deepawali, after worshipping him, a boon of wealth and food is taken.

Significance of Ganpati Puja on Diwali: Ganapati is said to be the god of wisdom. No worship and ritual in Hinduism are started without worshipping Ganapati. This is also one of the reasons for Ganpati Puja on Diwali.

According to religious rituals, the main day of worship of Goddess Lakshmi is Sharad Purnima, while the worship of Goddess Kali should be the main on the day of Diwali.

 The reason for this is that the night of Amavasya is the night of Maa Kalratri, while the night of Sharad Purnima is a dark night and is also the day of Goddess Lakshmi. It was on Sharad Purnima that Goddess Lakshmi was born from the ocean during the churning of the ocean.

The form of Amavasya Tithi is related to the Kalratri form of Maa Durga and the Dhawal form of Sharad Purnima is related to the form of Maa Lakshmi.
